At Courthouse Libraries BC, we help the legal community and the public in British Columbia find and use legal information. We can get you started in a good direction with your legal information needs.
We have libraries in 28 courthouses around the province, providing access to legal information. Each library is equipped with public computers providing access to the internet, legal databases, word processing software and printing. We also have wifi.
Our libraries differ in terms of staffing and print collections, and you can find the list of locations on our website, http://www.courthouselibrary.ca/about/libraries.aspx.
In the Regional and Resource libraries (largest Resource libraries are in Vancouver and Victoria) , you will find texts that support going to court – court rules, forms, procedure, and evidence – in addition to texts in specialized areas of practice, organized by subject. Check the subject labels on the ends of the book stacks.
You will also find legislation – statutes, regulations, and legislative debates – for both BC and Canada.
